Day 48 – Ink

You can’t just wash this stuff off
You can’t ever be that clean
Once it’s there

But you can get it in different forms,
Your poison,
Your branding-
Everyone knows you by the ink stains

When you get tired of wearing it
On fingertips,
Move it up to the back of palms
In a star, a logo, an X

Take your usual splattered chaos
And put it someplace safer
Where it can’t reach
Anything you touch

  1. I sometimes do feel like my writing and storytelling stains me, marks me. Most days I don’t care, some days I do, and some days I care that I care. Awesome poem. Thanks.
