Day 61 – Turtle Mornings

They can stunt me even on Fridays,
those turtle mornings can-
I haven’t slept or I’ve slept too much
and it’s too much effort to wash
the molasses out of my hair.

The routine that works is trite,
the clock’s not broken but much too fast, and
every colleague greeting is a grumble-squeak
and cataracts.

I say that my stomach hurts
but it’s my neck muscles that refuse
to poke out.

  1. What you need is aloe-vera taken internally, for your stomach. Ginger helps too, and Yogurt. Take a hot bath, do deep breathing exercises, lite some candles and put on some soft music… Just drift away…
