Really cool to be featured at Infinite-Pathways.org this morning, such a great resource blog for writers 🙂
Do not wander back into that dark night
where the sweet air is tinged with the darting flight
of angels whose piercing shrieks of delight
are discordant cries for help.
Do not be led back into that dark abyss
where the marks of disease are taken as bliss
and a festering blister accompanies each kiss
between two errant souls.
Do not be so quick to delve back in
to the nostalgic places you have been,
to hope for better luck from within
than you’ve had since breaking out.
For we know that to hope is a bittering thing-
directed, far worse than aimless wandering-
and you will never feel the warm dawn of spring
if you return to that dark night.
