Day 79 – You Don’t Have to Remind Me

Y’know it isn’t as if I’d forget anymore,
so can I eat my cereal in peace?
I’m quite old by now and it’s not like there’s
any fun could hold sway over me.
No, I know my duties, oh I know them well
I’m fulfillin’ ’em in my dreams
but it must be swell to feel the muscles relax
from the tension of a lofty game,
no more, no less important
than distraction,
than living well enough.

  1. Wow. Also, wow. Oh, and since I realised that (a) I was a writer and (b) that meant I had to write, I haven’t been able to relax. If I take any downtime I start thinking ‘what can I be writing? or reading? or editing?’ I’ve given up envying those people that can relax, though… it doesn’t do any good, and, well, they don’t see a fraction of the wonders I do. Oh, and wow. Did I say wow? Good. Wow.

  2. Totally wow, I even slip in writing time at school and on break at my part-time job. I have so many writing and editing projects that I’ve layered on myself that taking a break really isn’t much of an option, but it’s okay.
