Day 266 – Jumping Puddles

Bedraggled and soaking wet, she arrives
with a smile she’s been after
since she first was taught
what a lady had to be-
no jumping puddles.

She always hated pearls
but she’s dripping in them now,
windy hair and grinning
like the rain won’t ever stop,
as her love has ever been
for the howling.

How has the wild girl come to this,
by years of grooming rejected,
to settle into her poise at last
and with abandon wreck it?

A pearl is no mistake!
And no good lady could be formed
except through times of turmoil, spit,
and years of jumping puddles.
