Day 276 – More Loss Than Hadn’t You Played

Well don’t play laser tag
if you don’t want to play-
nobody asked you to

And don’t look at me
with your frisbee on the roof,
honey, put your dice away

I know you don’t want to win
but still you play
because you’re afraid to lose

But to play with no heart,
no intention or hope
is to put a number to the stars,
is to stamp your name to the grave

Through deserts stumbled
and many ages,
more loss than hadn’t you played
