Day 295 – Everybody Man

Who’s got the kids in a trance around here
with his arms stretched above like some oak,
soaking the rays of their heartwarming praise
and affecting to simmer them down?

Everybody Man, I see you.
I know what they think you are,
and you’d be delighted to tell them
if humility wasn’t this fun

He knows how to do it, yeah, he’s pretty good
and they think it was all their idea
to blow up the image of his magnetic face
in their generous estimation

There isn’t a weak one that he couldn’t steer,
not a bad one in the whole bunch-
killin’ everybody with kindness, he’s
killin’ me with somethin’, alright

Everybody Man, I see you.
I know what you think you are,
and I’d be delighted to tell you,
if ignorance, watching your blindness
wasn’t this devilishly fun
