Day 336 – They Will Never Know

She of the juvenile, self-protecting skin,
soft to the touch of careless men,
wrapped in silken attempts to ward off
and to reel in all the same-

she wept after all,
after pain of lengthening bones,
all the more at the stars
she never saw.

She weeps now, at last;
if they knew, how they would laugh,
only they will never know
how she grows.
