Day 344 – Bigger Ways

Have you ever loved somebody
who was never coming back?
Then you know, then you know,
oh you know-

the futility of man
to stop a bullet or a train,
the laughing mad of rules
that don’t play fair.

I should think you’d hang your post,
and I should think I’d do the same
and we all think that we’d be
better off than that

but the spirit rides among us
and we never lay our heads
but to dream of bigger ways
to lose the fight.
