Day 349 – Old Man Ready

Little Joey Dreamer
keeps his glasses on in bed,
keeps his glasses on in bed
so he can see the shapes that move.

Grown-up Maggie Mover
keeps her contacts in at night,
keeps her contacts in at night
so she can dry her tears to dream.

And then there’s Old Man Ready
he don’t need the gift of sight,
he don’t need the gift of sight
to know of stars and soundless sleep.

      • Ever welcome. 🙂 Yeah, some other law can take over sometimes, and all our grand authorial writer plans go out the window. Coming close to the end of your poetry challenge! How do you feel about the prospect of finishing it?

      • Oh my gosh, I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Excited to release the book, excited to be able to finally call myself an author, excited to embark on a new challenge…that’s basically what On the Cusp of Autumn is about. It’s a fantastic feeling 🙂

  1. Ah brilliant! It’s definitely something to congratulate yourself on. How many people *want* and/or are willing to challenge themselves this way in the first place? Congratulations on the fantastic work so far 🙂
