Year 2: Day 21 – Little Faces

I’m trippin’ over pebbles
every day
’til they come and put their hands
on my knee.

They get right in the middle
of my stacking sand
and they wanna know things
and why.

And if I’m not careful
I could lose them
with an unkind,
frustrated word-

They look up and ask
“What does all that matter,
anyway?”

and I have got
to lay down
my plans.

Don’t forget to check out my first anthology, Candy Pizza: Poetry that’s Fun and Healthy, available on Amazon & Kindle.
